BASP Golden Gate park!

Well I finally made it up onto the BASP podium after my near success at the night cross. I've got to admit, this was a really savage course and a true hard man's race.
Once again i got screwed over by all of the call-ups and what not having to start from the 4th row this time. Everything will be much better for the last race of the series because I move up to 19th overall! Being one of the last to be called up will be a slight advantage, and I hope to get a good start finally.
As for this race at Golden Gate Park, well it went very well for me. The start was horrible, as always, and i was somewhere near 25th or 30th and caught up in a small wreck after the first corner with sand in it. After everyone got untangled it was time to pick my way through the riders in front of me. The crowds were awesome and the run-up was an intense section of the course with tons of people yelling at the top of their lungs. With two to go Stevo yelled that there were 4 guys ahead of me and that I had podium in the bag. I could see the guy who placed 3rd not too far ahead of me so I tried to get up to him, but that didn't work out.
Coming around the last corner I pinch flatted getting onto the pavement. I rode the slight uphill on a flat rear sprinting with a guy who was running his bike that he seemed to have flatted as well. That was a intense finale because the guy who was running was the guy who was supposed to be 5th and I barely got around him in the last 50 or so meters. What a bummer for him...

Anyways, I'm pretty excited for next sunday. The 5th and final race of the BASP series is at coyote point and it should be epic. Maybe I'll get a medal from this one, but they are only for the top three.
